Another Dream has been granted!

We will be putting down brand spanking new flooring

in our employee’s “Dad’s” house!

Read on to find out the whole story…..”

My parents split up when I was 5 years old so I lived with my mother as an only child.  I visited with my father over the years.  My mother had Crones and Colitis and we did not have a lot of support so we relied on food banks and things to help.  When I was about 13 years old my Mother met a man.  He would take his shirt off his back for anyone.  He became my father over the years and walked me down the aisle when I got married.  A year after that my mother and John got married and my husband and I stood up at their wedding.  It was very nice to see my mother finally happy.  About 1 year after they got married, my mother found out she had cancer.  After everything she was through before this, we were devastated.

One morning after my husband went to work I was watching TV and there was a knock on my door.  It was pouring rain and there was my stepfather, crying and standing the in the rain.  He came in and we cried for a long time holding each other and that was the day I realized he was indeed in love with my mother.  We were both scared and said we would get through this.  We never told my mother about that day.

My mother fought for her life over the next few years until she passed May 16th 2010.  My son was 9 months old at the time and I was heartbroken.  My real father and I are not on speaking terms so I felt like I had lost both parents.  I then realized I had my Mom’s husband and he was meant to be my father.  We are best friends; we talk every single day either on the phone or in person.  He is Hunter’s Papa and he means the world to us.

My “Dad” grew up in Nova Scotia so he does not have any family here.  He works hard and has kept busy since my mother     passed.  The house that he lives in is very old but still in good shape.  He has replaced all the windows and put up a tub surround in the bathroom and did some painting.

He has just been told he has allergies and has to go for testing.  The house has carpet in the living room and the 2 bedrooms so what I would like to do for him, is surprise him with doing his floors.  The house is not big at all and this is something my mother wanted done before she passed as well.  He means so much to me and had done so much – this is a way I can show him that I do care. This would mean so much to him and my family.  If it was not for John in my life I do not know where I would be today.  He deserves this.  I know the carpet is affecting his allergies and I would be willing to find volunteers to help lay the material and rip the old stuff out.

Thank you for listening…
